Ask the class to describe a habitat (of any kind – people habitats too!) Make a list of the things a habitat should have for all living things (food, water, light, air, etc.) What are basic needs? List some more complex needs (herds groups for protection, etc.)

Discuss the common things and also discuss dissimilar things (fish need water, not air to “breathe”.)

How do certain animals change their habitat to better fit their needs? For example, armadillos dig burrows and people build houses!

During your safari, our guide will point out all the things in our habitat that allow the animals to thrive.
